Try harder and don’t make excuses

Try harder and don’t make excuses

In my recent years of learning and teaching the Qur’ān, I have noticed that so many sisters give up so easily when it comes to memorization of the Qur’ān or improving their recitation. I know sisters who dropped out of the Qur’ān sessions because they couldn’t see a lot of improvement or because they didn’t progress too well.

“That’s hard. I don’t think I can do it.”

I hear that statement too often.

Don’t lose hope so quickly. There’s never an end to learning and never an end to trying harder. Strive because Allāh chose you to study the Qur’ān while many others never got to the Qur’ān sessions. Keep trying, there is definitely a double reward for the one who tries harder. Try harder, for every moment will be worth it when you are asked to recite and rise in Yaum Al-Qiyāmah.

Don’t make excuses with the Qur’ān, for it will intercede for you when nobody else will because it was your companion in this world. It may be the reason for your scale to be heavier due to the number of times you tried to recite and the doubled rewards you got for every try.

Make du’ā to Allāh if you find yourself struggling. Allāh makes the difficult easy.

The journey is long but every second you give to the Qur’ān, be assured that it is worth the struggle!
