Family of Qu’raan: inspirational video!

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah

AlHumdulillah, on a weekly basis I receive dozens of inspiring emails or posts, all of which encourage and support the hifdh dream, the hifdh journey. But this morning as I sat down to prepare for the week’s hifdh mentoring classes, I opened a web-link that reminded me not only of the powerful impact that parents have on their childrens’ hifdh, but of what our spiritual aspirations as a Muslim family should be, ever-conscious of the great gift to mankind, AlQur’aan Al Majeed!

      Assalaamu ‘alaykum,
Hmm…i’m not sure when or why the settings have been changed, but the video was about a family in which the father completed tahfeedh, and then 70 days later, his daughters completed too. It included words of advise – a talk- by the principal of their learning institute in the States. Was quite motivating!

The reason I’m interested is that we’re on this journey together. My son and daughter are enrolled in a hifz program here in the States with me in tow (LOL). Daughter is 2 ajza ahead of me, and my son intends to beat me (but not yet, may be soon). My third kid, a 6 yo girl, said matter of factly that she’s going to enroll as soon as her big sister finishes. She’s with me all the time playing and learning qaida at the masjid until I finish my daily review and sabaq with my daughter’s teacher. My fourth kid, a toddler, thinks masjid is the fun place to pray and run around …:). My son said that when his father is older, he should quit his job and do hifz, and he (my son) will support his dad (LOL). Alhamdulillah. I’m praying that we can reach this noble goal. Please pray for me sis. Rahyanah. I like your blog v. much. Very uplifting.

          wow, truly a family of Qur’aan 🙂
May Allah SWT keep you all steadfast, ameen.
inshaAllah, you WILL all achieve your goal of complete Qur’aan memorisation : just keep your weekly / monthly goals in mind, revise daily, maintain this wonderful, healthy spirit of competitive learning, and seek His help daily…all the best, my sis <3
