21 Jan Valuing alQur’aan: soul food 101
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah,
Inspiration. Upliftment. Motivation.
These are 3 key ingredients essential for every individual’s happy & successful Hifdh Journey, regardless of age, country or culture. For many aspiring huffaadh, it is the primary catalyst, spurring one on & consciously inspiring the heart to strive towards the preservation of alQur’aan alHakeem. This may feature in the form of ahaadeeth, discourses, mentors, moments of solitude & print material / resources, varying from one individual to the next.
This week, I’ll be sharing two web-links, both of which had an incredible impact – not only on myself as an individual – but also on students currently memorising as well as those pursuing intensive hifdh review programmes (viz: completed haafidhaat). I vividly recall one student (a young adult from Belgium) emailing me soon after I recommended she read the articles, enthusing over how they changed her perspective completely and encouraged her to complete the last four ajzaa’ of hifdh, alHumdulillah.
Inspiration takes on different forms & appeals to every individual in a different way, ma shaa Allah. In this case, it was these heart-stirring articles – beautifully penned words that are reminding us, encouraging us to reflect & remain ever so grateful to Allah The Bestower for the gift of alQur’aan in our lives. I believe that if we are constantly reminded of the blessings that come with alQur’aan, we can strive towards becoming a generation of believers who value the Heavenly Words memorised, eager to revise (our hifdh) daily, ever conscious of forgetting or neglecting evena single verse, and remaining committed & passionate about living & sharing its Message.

ameen , Allahumma Taqabbal minnaa – in shaa Allah.
My apologies,
article
I hope that the above link works , there does seem to be a problem with the coding of the URL, hence the challenge in directly linking to the page. The title of the article: “The struggle of the soul in light of Surah al Shams” and appears in the March 2012 archive of the afore-mentioned website.
