Awakened Hearts: The wisdom of a mini Muslim

Awakened Hearts: The wisdom of a mini Muslim

Bismillah
Assalamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah

Dear sisters,

Since the start of last week, I had a number of drafts prepared, all with the intention of completing & posting onto this blog.
Yet none of them seemed…right , or…perfect, or …complete. There was ‘somethng’ missing in these draft posts. I couldn’t quite pin-point what it was – that is, until Sunday evening. I learnt that what we sometimes need in the journey of hifdh comes in the most beautiful and unexpected packages.

Sunday evenings is scheduled mostly for my North American students – amongst them, one aspiring haafidh : at 6 years old, he is one of Fee Qalbee’s youngest students. His warmth, responsiveness & diligent efforts inspire me as a teacher & as a mother to my own 9 year old.

More often than not, I try to change my profile status on Skype (the medium of teaching used at Fee Qalbee) : I type out words, ideals, quotations that have inspired me to change or encouraged me to reflect. And I feel blessed to be able to share these reflections with the friends of the Glorious Qur’aan.

Yesterday, my 6 year old student had asked his mom to type his thoughts out on our Skype chat:
“When you wake up, you think you wake up by yourself, but actually it is the Qur’aan in you waking up.”

This was his message to me : soul stirring, revealing & profound.
And I was both moved & inspired.
Now, even as I glance at these words, I feel love, awe & devotion for the most beautiful Words in the heavens & on earth.
And I would love for you, each one of you, to feel this emotion too.
Perhaps it may serve as your catalyst for an inspirational, Qur’aan-filled week ahead:)

Much love & Du’aas,
Rayhaanah
