Prominent Egyptian Qari passes away

The eminent Egyptian holy Qur’an reciter, Sheikh Abul Ainain Shu’aisha, has passed away at the age of 89.

Sheikh Shu’aisha, who was the secretary general of Egypt’s Union of Qur’an Reciters and Memorizers, died on Thursday in the capital city of Cairo, International Quran News Agency (IQNA) reported.

Sheikh Abul Ainain Shu’aisha was born in Kafr el-Sheikh Province, north of Egypt in 1922. He began memorizing and reciting the verses of the holy Qur’an in early childhood.

The master was deeply influenced by Sheikh Mohammad Raf’at, a great reciter in the Muslim world and therefore began with following his style of recitation.

The late Egyptian Quran reciter established his own outstanding style of reciting in 1940. Furthermore, he was the first to recite Qur’an in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
