21 Feb Creating a Hifdh gratitude journal
Bismillah
Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah
Dear Sister:
Alhamdulillah, I’m sure that at some stage in our lives for whatever purpose or reason, most of us may have kept a diary or journal. We may have documented our thoughts, feelings, ideas or even aspirations.
Today I invite you to develop & formulate a journal with a difference, embracing the key elements of gratitude & spirituality: a Hifdh gratitude journal.
Today, choose to document your efforts, challenges, aspirations and your gratitude & appreciation to Allah ‘Azza wa Jall, for the gift of memorising Al Qur’aan.
Today, choose to surround yourself with optimism, hope & gratitude as you continue to enhance your journey of Tahfeedhul Qur’aan.
Working at a Hifdh gratitude journal is easy & enjoyable:
*You could choose to use the art of scrapbooking, stencilling or any other fun, creative way to decorate your journal. Allow it to reflect your journey & your aspirations!
* Decide on how often you would update your journal: it could be a daily or weekly journal; you may also choose to utilise this concept as a reflective journal, placing no periodic time-line for jourmal entries.
*Use your journal to, primarily, reflect & write on your feelings of gratitude to Allah for this amazing gift. As you continue your Hifdh journey, you will find hidden & apparent blessings from Allah manifesting in your journey, assisting you to increase in appreciation & humbleness, as a student.
*Developing & consistently maintaining such a journal will allow for you to turn back on the pages as often as you like, providing you with a boost in confidence & encouragement, especially when you experience a challenging time in your hifdh. It will also remind you of this great gift from Allah, thus making the gratitude journal an ideal inclusion even for those who have completed memorisation of Qur’aan: indeed, it will continue to remind you of this blessing from Allah & that it is such a blessing which needs to constantly be looked after & protected with recitation, reflection & action.
All the best, as you & I set out to embrace gratitude & the greatness of Allah’s Word, inshaa Allah!
Stay in touch, please, and share with me your experience of beginning your Hifdh gratitude journal, too! Or perhaps you amy have already begun your journal – share your thoughts on the implementation of this resource tool in your life! Email: rayhaanah@feeqalbee.com
