Qur’aanic Museum to open in Makkah

— The Um-ul-Qura University in Makkah plans to establish a Quranic museum, Okaz Daily reported.

Fuaz Al-Dahas, an Um-ul-Qura University official, said that the museum would include a garden containing trees mentioned in the holy Quran.

It will be launched in Al-Abadia district of the holy city, he said.

A committee has been set up by the Islamic History and Civilization Department of the university to oversee the project, he noted.

The museum will also include replicas of old houses of Makkah since the advent of Islam, manuscripts, coins, pottery, artifacts and other articles of historical and artistic value.

The first Quranic garden containing the flora mentioned in the holy book was launched in Doha, Qatar, in 2008.

SubhanAllah. You learn someting new everyday. I’ve never imagined that someone would take the initiative to do something like this.

I’d love to see it; we need something like that in England!
