21 Dec Fragrant Reminders, O teacher of the Qur’aan!
Bismillah
Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah
Beloved sisters,
Fortunate & blessed indeed we are, to have teachers of knowledge, patience, wisdom, sincerity & love in our midst, Alhamdulillah!
In the journey of tahfeedhul Qur’aan, we often tend to overlook the experience & challenge that teaching poses to the teacher herself: For, if that challenge is taken up with sincerity, good-will, devotion & love, then indeed, she will but continue to grow, blossom & flourish! Based mainly on a poem, today’s blog post id dedicated to special people behind special students, teaching the World’s Best Book, Alhamdulillah!
May Allah, The All-Wise, bless our tecahers, reward them for their sacrifices & increase them in sincerity & beneficial knowledge, aameen!
Love, for Allah’s Pleasure,
Rayhaanah

UNFOLDING THE ROSE:
A young, new ustadh was walking through the gardens, one day, with an older, more seasoned ustadh. Feeling a bit insecure about what Allah SWT might have in store for him, he asked the older ustadh for some advice.
Without speaking, the older of the two men walked over to a rose bush, picked a rosebud and handed it to his young companion. The old man then told him to peel off all the petals without tearing or damaging them.
The young teacher was dumfounded. He looked at his older colleague, trying to figure out what unfolding a rosebud had to do with his request for advice. However, due to his great respect for the older teacher, the young man went ahead and began the task of unfolding the rose.
As he began to peel off the petals he realised that it was an impossible task. There wa no way he could unfold this little flower without tearing it’s petals….
Noticing the young mans difficulty, the older man began to recite a poem….
It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of Allah’s design;
But I cannot unfold the petals with these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
Allah opens this flower so sweetly,
Then in my hands they die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of Allah’s design,
Then how can I have the wisdom,
To unfold this life of mine?
So I’ll trust in Allah for leading
Each moment of my day.
I will look to Allah for His guidance
Each step of the way.
The path that lies before me…
Only Allah knows.
So I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.
