Identifying Mutashabihaat made easy

Identifying Mutashabihaat made easy

Bismillah
Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah
Dear sisters,

Jumu’a Mubaaruk! & may Allah Ta’ala continue to bless us & guide us towards earning His Divine Pleasure, aameen.
One aspect of concern for those who have memorised the Qur’aan in completion & those who have progressed in tahfeedhul Qur’aan, is that of Mutashabihaat.
Our respected brother blogging at www.tmr123.wordpress.com, has made a wonderful contribution to those on the journey of Qur’aanic memorisation, Alhamdulillah.
In his own words:

Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Aalamin

Was Salaatu was Salaamu ala Rasulillah

This is for the Hafiz and for the one who is studying towards reaching that rank. It is a list of the Mutashabihat of the Holy Quran. The word Mutashabihat is used here in the sense understood by the Huffaz, and not in the manner understood in the science of Ulum al-Quran. An ayah which closely resembles another one is called a Mutashabih. It is very tempting for the one who is memorising the Quran to ignore these ayat and to overlook them. But if he truly wants to know the Quran well, then it is imperative that he know which ayat are similar to other ones and the differences between them as well as where these ayat are to be found in the Quran, because it is said that the excellence of ones memorisation will be according to the excellence of ones knowledge of the Mutashabihat. The aim of this list is to assist in that endeavour. My advice would be to use this list to identify which ayat are regarded as Mutashabihat and then next to those ayat, pencil in the reference for the other ayat which are similar to it in the margin of your mushaf. When learning these ayat one should also learn the others which closely resemble it and pay particular attention to the similarities and differences between them. It is also important to know the location of each ayah.

May Allah (swt) make it easy for all the students of Hifz and may He increase the Huffaz in their knowledge of the Quran, Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, by visiting this link http://tmr123.wordpress.com/mutashabihat/ you can familiarise & thoroughly study, learn & recognise the mutashabihaat of Qur’aan. The 1rst 13 juzz are covered – you may either download or click on the links, to look up the aayats & find out which aayats resemble each other.

Recognising & studying the mutashabihaat of Qur’aan is one of the most effective tools for improving your Qur’aanic memorisation. Additionally, it assists in building a strong foundation, where every memorising sister is then fully aware of the similar aayats. Utilising this effective tool, one can then work at improving revision / review of tahfeedhul Qur’aan. This is extremely important for those who have completed a greater portion / entire memorisation / forgotten certain portions of Qur’aan & now attempting to re-learn & recall verses.

I find the identification of mutashabihaat to be one of the revision tools that is best studied regularly, so that one can experience a noticeable improvement & progress in hifdh, inshaa Allah.

~May Allah Ta’ala bless each of us with sincerity & devotion in our efforts to preserve The Glorious Qur’aan ; May He make its memorisation easy for us, upon our tongues, minds & hearts, aameen:)~

Loving the Qur’aan!
