Loving the Huffadh

‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) once spoke of ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ood (radiyallhu ‘anhu) and said, ” I have loved him ever since I heard Rasoolullah (salallahu ‘alayhi was sallam) say, ‘Learn the Qur’aan from four persons, from ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ood, Saalim, Mu’aadh and Ubayy ibn Ka’b.”                                                                     [Bukhaari]

~ This hadeeth teaches us to have love for every practising haafidh. Such love is a sign of Imaan, because they have the Book of Allah in their hearts. They are blessed by Allah and are amongst His chosen servants. Having love for them reflects love for Allah’s Book and ultimately, love for Allah himself. ~
